Hansker | Work and Play without the wrist pain

It all started with a lot of pain in his right wrist.

Alex, the founder of Hankser design, is a professional designer who has worked for well-known companies such as Booking.com and Beat since 2011.

In 2020, after cultivating his passion for computers from a very young age, he started feeling consistent and debilitating pain in his right wrist - mainly after long working and playing sessions.

Physiotherapists diagnosed "chronic tendinitis" caused by repetitive movements due to the position and gestures used with his mouse.

At that point, Alex began looking for ways to alleviate the pain. He started by trying different vertical mice available in the market, but none of them fully satisfied him. Hence, thanks to his expertise in product design, he decided to start designing his own and, concurrently, kept his eyes on the market potential.

Then, this unique mouse came to life

In early 2021, Hansker began to be designed with the help of a researcher, designer, and engineer team in the Netherlands, Ukraine, and Spain.

What is Hansker?

It is a comfortable mouse that helps avoid wrist strain while being uncompromising on aesthetics. Hansker enables you to do your work in style while reducing the strain produced by your mouse. The technology is very similar to any other mouse.

What will Hansker bring for you?

  • Work and play without the wrist pain

Hansker allows you to spend time on your computer without getting the annoying wrist strain afterward. They've reviewed scientific literature and collaborated with physical health professionals to achieve a state-of-the-art ergonomic design.

  • Use an ergonomic mouse in style

Most ergonomic mice look like machines out of star wars (but the ugly ones). Many people care about the looks of what they put on their desks, and Hansker takes this into account.

  • Just the right fit for your wrist and desk

Using a flat computer mouse causes strain to our hands and wrists. This can lead to tendinitis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, and other related injuries. Hansker sits at a higher, more comfortable angle for our wrists – which helps reduce the strain produced by the continuous use of computers. Computer mice have been left behind in the race for comfort and aesthetics. Hansker helps prevent wrist discomfort without breaking the style of your desk.

  • Work comfortably anywhere

The Hansker Mouse has a high-resolution sensor that works on almost any surface and connects perfectly to Mac and Windows.

The team at Hansker has spent two years perfecting it, and now they're almost ready to share it with the world.

They did amazing! Right?

Why do they think this time is suitable for a product like this?

Whether you work from home or at the office, or if you play games, and are really serious about it, one tiny tool on your desk could be impacting your quality of life. Like chairs and keyboards, ergonomic mice are built upon the pillars of comfort, fit, and posture. They're sculpted to fit the curvatures of your fingers and palm while reducing the constant tension on your wrist from clicking and gliding.

"We've been using the wrong products the wrong way all our lives cause the normal shape of keyboards and mice are not good for your body at all." Alex - Founder of Hansker

After that, they needed to get fund

At this point, Andrea is helping the Hansker team bring this outstanding product to life and build their community.

Let's look at some facts.

What are the benefits of a vertical mouse?

A vertical mouse can help you work faster. It requires less movement of your wrist and hand than a flat mouse, and since you'll be able to click and scroll more comfortably, it also makes it easier to work at your computer longer, with less fatigue. You may want a vertical mouse if you experience wrist discomfort from repetitive mousing tasks. Wrist pain is the fourth most common place in the body to experience musculoskeletal pain.

The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) published a study in which researchers concluded: "too frequent use of non-ergonomic computer mice causes extreme discomfort in the muscle and tendon system of the hand along with various manifest symptoms in the shoulder and forearm." Mouse arm can cause numbness or tingling in the fingers, aching forearms, wrist, elbow, or shoulder pain, neck stiffness, or loss of hand flexibility. As time passes, that pain gets more intense and more brutal to reverse.
